My Weight Loss "gain??" Update

Hello lovelies

So,,, I didn't find last month to be easy at all. I didn't stick fully to my plan but I was very close. the one thing that was out of control was my late night snacking. No matter how hard I try I'd be overwhelmed with an  urge to eat anything, it doesn't have to be sweet it just has to be food.

I knew the reason behind my weird, unusual appetite: My stupid birth control pills. I used to take this particular kind "Marvelon" before and I experienced the same wet appetite for food all day but that was back when I wasn't trying to lose weight so it didn't matter that much. Now it matters a lot and its weakening my will to eat less and in strict hours.

I'm on the look out for different pills, If you know from experience something that will not make me eat uncontrollably then please tell me in a comment below,, Thanks in advance <3 <3

Today is the 2nd of Oct 2013
My weight today is 83.6 Kg
I've gained 3.6 Kg in the past month

My plan is still  pretty much the same, I'll be changing my pills and hope the next month becomes a little easier  >_<

Thanks for reading till this point and I'll be seeing you next month, Hopefully with some good news,, Take care.. xx

A Personal Update,,

Hello lovelies,,

Most of you don't know this about me: I am a BIG girl.... the biggest girl in my father's family >_<
I can easily admit to that because its very obvious that there is no point lying about it.
But this is not how I want to be for the rest of my life, and I thought someone in the same place I'm in might find some inspiration in my ongoing story.

Before I talk about my plan and what I will be doing to fix this situation, let me tell you my story with obesity (if you're not interested in this part you can just skip to the paragraph after the line of stars) :) :

I've always struggled with my weight - ever since i was 9 years old - and I never really thought about the reason why. I didn't listen to anyone who tried to talk to me about my eating habits or about exercise, I almost always reacted to that by eating more junk food and hating exercise even more.

But then life went on, I got married, got pregnant and my weight went through the roof.
I gained 23 kilos (50 pounds) during my pregnancy and I didn't lose any of it after my baby was born..... I tried crash dieting - which is an intense diet that makes you lose a lot of weight in a short time - but like everyone else who tried these, I regained every kilo back faster than I lost it and that really depressed me,, and I just gave up!!

I thought I'm never losing this weight for good, I'll starve  myself and get nowhere because I'll always regain any weight I lose. I honestly believed that,, until My little family went to live in london for a while.

Public transportation was excellent so we decided we're not getting a car, which meant I started walking a lot more than I used to back home. What really surprised me was - even though I was pregnant with my second baby- I didn't gain any weight at all, not a single ounce during my pregnancy in london.

I was eating "healthy" compared to my usual diet, I stopped drinking fruit juice even the unsweetened kind, I drank a lot more water and stopped the caffeine. And what surprised me the most was that I had the will to do it all.

I gave birth to my second baby during november 2010, what was considered the coldest winter london had to go through for the past 10 years or so. So I barely left the house and started eating more junk food and I lost all interest in my weight loss process.

Until the beginning of this year 2013,
I stood on a scale one day to find out that my weight has gone up again, I weighed 89 kilos (196 pounds) and I'm only 5' tall >_<
I've decided I had ENOUGH of my own laziness and my non-existing will, and my lack of trying to do anything about it. So I took matters seriously this time, I Promised myself that I Will lose all my extra weight the right way and I'll keep it off.

My starting date was 3rd of January 2013
My starting weight was 89 kilos (196 pounds)
My frame size is medium
I'm 5' tall
My goal is to lose 36 kilos (80 pounds)

Disclaimer: I have to say that I'm not an expert of any kind when it comes to nutrition and dieting but what I'm doing is some tips that I got from a nutritionist who evaluated my case and gave me some pointers.
However, I've read about this a lot so some of the things I'm doing are my own twist on the tips she gave me, just to make everything doable as a lifestyle and not just a temporary diet.

The following plan is what I've been doing from the beginning of 2013 and I've lost 9 kilos (19.8 pounds) so far :)
  1. No deadlines except for the goal weight which for me is 53 kilos (116 pounds)
  2. Stop eating at least 3 hours before bedtime
  3. Drink 8 cups of water everyday
  4. Walk for a minimum of 30 minutes everyday
  5. Snack on fruits and vegetables - my personal  favorites are baby carrots and green apples and kiwi
  6. Switch Ice cream for frozen yogurt - and eat in moderation
  7. Stop all soft drinks - all carbonated sugary drinks
  8. Switch fruit juice for actual fruits - you can use the fibers that the full fruit contains
  9. don't walk through the sweets, candy and chocolate isles of the supermarket - this will cut down the amount of unhealthy snacks you buy.
  10. Eat 1200-1300 calories everyday - cut back to 1200 calories when you don't workout and reward yourself when you do with 1300 calories.
  11. Use the MyFitnessPal App to help track your calorie intake and your exercise.

So, What do you think???
if you like my plan and think that you can do it or any part of it for the next month then please let me know in the comment section below and we can be weightloss buddies :)

If you are -by any chance- an expert reading this post and you disagree with me on some points then please set me straight, professional advice is always welcome.

I will be doing monthly updates on this topic,, But it won't be as long as this post, just my current weight and any changes I might have on my plan.

Thanks for staying with me till the end of this super long post, Take care Lovelies and I'll talk to you soon, xx

Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butters: Review and Swatches

Hello lovelies,,,

Long time no see ^_^ I've honestly missed you guys, and I'm working on a blogging schedule, I promise <3

Today I'm here with a review, but I'd like to ask you some Q's first,

Are you struggling with dry, flaky, chapped or even bleeding lips?
Does wearing lipstick make your lips drier than usual?

a while back my answer to these questions was: YES !!

I even started hating lipstick altogether.

And then, a new product showed up at the horizon,

 Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butters

It was a marriage between a lipstick and a lip balm, and it was Amazing

This product has changed the way my lips feel, For ever.

Let me show you how cute the packaging is:

I loved the idea of making the color very obvious, no need to flip the tube or open the lid.

They just look delicious <3

lets start by stating the company's description of the product, the claim the following:

1- Hydrating mango, Shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
2- Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
3- Sheer to medium color with buttery shine

About the percentage they're giving in the first claim, there is no way I can calculate that ,, ha ha
but I did notice a big difference about the amount of moisture in my lips and I was really satisfied with that.

The formula is indeed very smooth and buttery and quit pleasant, I might add. It felt light and creamy and comfortable to talk, eat and drink while wearing it.

The color intensity is just the right amount for daily use, it is work appropriate and perfect if i'm going for a laid-back evening look. Some of the colors are sheer and some are build-able to medium

The original line consists of 20 colors but I only got 8 and that's because that's all I could find in the market.

I really Loved these lip butters and I've been recommending them for everyone I know and I've been giving them away as gifts. They are moderately prices but the amount of product is less then I would like, I ran out of my (cotton Candy) twice that I had to buy extra as back up. The staying power for these lipsticks/lip balms is kinda poor but then again, they are mostly lip balms with extra pigments in them so cut them some slack ^_^

That's all I had to say about these guys, I took a ton of photos and did some swatches so I'll leave you with that. Let me know what you thought of the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters in the comments section bellow,
and til I talk to you again, Take Care xx

Strawberry Shortcake / Cotton Candy
Cotton Candy: A light cool-pink with a golden sheen
Strawberry Shortcake: A light warm-pink
Pink Truffle / Peach Parfait
Peach Parfait: a peachy nude with a little bit of glitter
Pink Truffle: a pinkish-brown nude
Candy Apple / Tutti Frutti
Tutti Frutti: a bright coral-y orange
Candy Apple: a bright orange-y red
Raspberry Pie / Lollipop
Lollipop: A bright cool-pink
Raspberry Pie: a deep cool-red

The center picture is my bare lips with nothing on them.

A Black Friday Haul: Sigma - Unboxing

Hello lovelies,

Recently, I have become very interested in Sigma. I became a Sigma affiliate last May and as a welcoming gesture, they sent me a gift: Their F80 flat kabuki brush. I was so happy with the brush, I used it and loved it right away.
When Sigma announced their black Friday deal of free worldwide shipping on all online orders, I had to take advantage of the offer. I bought three sets of brushes (18 brushes in total) and their  dry'n shape Brush roll/holder.
I placed my order on November 22nd during Black Friday, I received the package on December 3rd: I honestly wasn't expecting it to arrive for at least two more weeks.
And since opening new packages is always so exciting for me, I thought I'd share it with all of you ^_^ so I photographed every step of the process as I did it:

The Package as I got it, nice and clean
Right after opening the outer box
All the items I bought, in separate boxes
The Synthetic Kabuki Kit, 5  Different shapes for all my cream and liquid face products.  Well, except for the round  Kabuki brush which can be used for mineral foundation as well
The Synthetic Precision Kit, 5 Shapes to fit right into different hard-to-reach areas , Like under the eyes and around the nose and such
The Performance Eyes Kit, 8 small brushes for perfecting all details of my eye look, I was particularly amazed by how small the liner brush is,, Here, I'll show you.....
This is the E11 eyeliner brush, very short and fine for the finest lines and wings ever. Lets compare this to a regular eyeliner brush:
Here you can see the difference between the tiny E11 eyeliner brush (Black) and the regular sized E05 eyeliner brush (Pink)
Oh, and his beautiful Hot pink eyeliner brush was sent to me for free, because  I paid more than $30 for my order. Sigh,, My first ever hot pink brush :)

I just received those three days ago, so all I can say for now is that the performance kit has the smallest eyeliner brush I've ever seen in my life and I can't wait to try everything and tell you guys how I like them.

Disclaimer: I am a Sigma affiliate and I paid for all the brushes I showed you (except for the hot pink brush which was a gift on all orders over $30), My opinions are my own and they are not influenced by gifts or freebies or by me being an affiliate to this or that company. If I like a product I'll say something nice about it and if I don't I'll let you know all the reasons why.

Thank you for joining me today on this haul, make sure to check back every week or two for reviews of everything you saw in this post. Take care, have a nice holiday and I'll see you soon, xx

September Photo Shoot: Raquel and Rowena

Hi Lovelies, I have to apologize for my sudden disappearance ^_^
We are in the process of remodelling our kitchen. So I have so much work on my hands that, at the end of the day, I'm left entirely exhausted with no time at all for blogging.
I miss you all and I really missed blogging. Thats why, I took the day off kitchen painting and started writing this post.

Something Light and different, that discribes todays post. On the last week of september, me and my partner / Hairstylist did a mini makeover on two lovely ladies: Rowena and Raquel. A Review: MAC Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara

Hi lovlies,
I've been so unavailable here lately that I'd really missed you guys. The reason I was gone was that I went on a family holiday, then school came and I was so overwhelmed because my little daughter is now a first grader.
I know what you might think : OK... she is the one going to school, why am I the one to be overwhelmed? I don't really know but I've decided that I'll snap out of it and write a blog post for you today ^_^

Today I'll be talking about my favorite mascara of all times: My MAC's Haute and Naughty Lash Mascara (I just heard they launched a "blacker" version of it, I might try it out later and let you guys know if its better in any way)

I'll start by saying that I've yet to see a prettier packaging fo a mascara than this, Just look at that

I don't Know about you guys but I'm a sucker for hot pink and glitter, and look closely, They are both there, ha ha..

O.K. so what is so special about this mascara? beside the packaging that is, Lets open it up Shall we!! but wait,,
which part do you turn to un screw the lid: the whole coloured part or just the hot pink part?
well, here is the best thing about this mascara and i'll tell you why in a second, let me first unscrew the hot pink part for you:

Notice how thin the hairless part of the wand is, and how there is a small amount of product on the hairs?

In this form the mascara is used as a lengthening mascara, it holds enough product to coat all the lashes but not enough to fill the gaps between them. It can also be applied as a first coat of mascara.

Now let me unscrew the whole colourful part:

See how thicker the wand is and how much more product the hairs hold?

In this form the mascara is used as a thickening mascara, it can be used on its own after scraping some of the product on the side of the tube.

For the best result with this mascara:
Unscrew the hot pink lid and apply a thin even coat of the product, then screw it back on unscrew the whole coloured part and remove some of the product by scraping it on the sides of the tube, then apply a coat or two of mascara to your lashes. and voila!!!

Simply put: These are two mascaras in one very cute packaging ^_^

It is sold in all MAC stores all around the world as far as I know and it retails for $20
(want to buy it online? click here)

My Thoughts: I've been using this mascara for months now and I absolutely LOVE it.
I love the packaging - as I've mentioned earlier- I love the big brush and the consistency of the product is devine: not too thin like other lengthening mascaras and not too thick like other Thickening ones, and it does NOT make your eyelashes stiff or hard, so it feels comfortable on your eyes.

Product Ratings
Packaging: 5 out of 5
Product: 5 out of 5
Price: 4.5 out of 5

The only thing that effects the rating of the price is that there are a couple of much cheaper dupes for it, one is from Bourjouis and the other is by Rimmel, both of which I haven't tried.

Bourjois Ultra Black Volumizer Mascara
Retails for $13.29 on Amazon

But I've tried other Bourjois mascaras and they were all amazing so this one I'm predicting is going to be amazing as well.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara
Retails For $7.57 (now on sale on Amazon for $0.53)

As for the Rimmel one, I'm considering buying it when I'm done with my MAC one, simply because its the cheapest of the three and because I want to try a Rimmel mascara at least once and form some opinion of the brand.

Here are some of the looks that I finished off using MAC's Haute and Naughty Lash Mascara

And thats it, I hope you found this review helpful and thorough and If you have any comments questions or suggestions just leave them below and I'll get back to you as soon as possible,

 Take care, xoxo

Sugarpill Rainbow: The Tutorial

Hello lovlies, I'm back today with another photographic tutorial, a "Photo-rial" as I like to call it.
On one of my previous posts (A Review: Sugarpill Pressed Eye Shadows) I did a couple of looks to demonstrate what I was talking about, one of them was the Sugarpill Rainbow.

I got some requests to do a tutorial on that look so I did ^_^

You may notice some changes to the look- aside from the Arabic eyeliner- These were on purpose, because in the original look I felt that the red was more present than the rest of the colours so I tried to change that.

Any way,,, Enough of my chit-chat, and lets start our tutorial:

Step 1: Prime the eyelids from the upper lash line all the way up to the brow bone, and underneath the bottom lashes as well.

Product Used: Urban Decay Primer Potion in *original*

Step 2: Apply a white base to the inner corner on the upper and lower lash lines and blend with a clean finger.

Product Used: NYX Jumbo Pencil in *Milk*

Step 3: Place a matte bright yellow eyeshadow over the whole area where you applied the white base, and blend the edges softly.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Buttercupcake*

Step 4: Place a matte bright orange eyeshadow on the area right next to the yellow on the top lid, for easier blending make sure the two colours overlap slightly. Blend the shared area completely for a smooth transaction of colours.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Flamepoint*

Step 5: Apply a matte red eyeshadow right next to the orange, again slightly overlapping and blend well in between the two colours.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Love +*

Step 6: Place a vibrent matte purple at the upper part of the outer corner overlapping the red, and extend the colour stopping right after the crease line.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Poison Plum*

Step 7: with a fluffy brush dipped lightly in the matte red eyeshadow, blend the edges of the purple up and out towards the eyebrow. Also pull the colour through the crease towards the inner corner, you can go all the way or you can stop 2/3rd in like I did.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Love +*

Step 8: With a pencil brush apply and smudge the same matte purple that was used before, to the bottom part of the outer corner, going almost half way in.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Poison Plum*

Step 9: Apply a bright matte blue to most of the purple on the lower lash line and blend until it becomes a blue-toned purple. Notice that I left the very tip of the outer corner with no added blue, also to keep the colour transaction as smooth as possible.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Afterparty*

Step 10: Add some of the blue on its own to the center of the lower lash line. Blend with the previous colour.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Afterparty*

Step 11: Apply a matte blue-toned green to the entire bare area between the blue and the yellow under the lower lash line, blend well with the colours on both sides.

Product Used: Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Midori*

Step 12: Fill in the eyebrow, and highlight the brow bone with a matte white eyeshadow.

Products Used: Make Up For Ever Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector in *#3*
Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in *Tako*

Step 13: Line the eye with black eyeliner, use gel, liquid or pencil and line the upper, or both lash lines and don't forget the waterline as well.
Here I decided to give it a hint of an arabic look so I drew the liner kinda thick and on both lash lines.

Product Used: Inglot Gel Eyeliner in *#77*

Step 14: Re-apply some of the colours that were covered after the eyeliner step, Coat your top and bottom lashes with mascara until you're satisfied with the result.

Products Used: MAC Haute and Naughty Mascara

Step 15: This is optional, but you've gone this far so don't back down now ^_^
Apply some false lashes and re-apply mascara to push the real and false lashes together.

Product Used: No brand false lashes but they looked like these:
Photo Curtsey of

And thats the finished look, I hope you like it. Also I hope everything mentioned was clear and simple and that you'll try recreating this look some day ^_^
You can buy any of the colours I used today individually or you can do like me and get the palettes (Burning Heart & Sweet Heart) ^_^

As always if you have any comments, questions or suggestions please leave them in a comment below and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Until next time, Take care, xoxo
